Helping Age Action's Christmas Dreams Come True

As you would expect there were Christmas songs, Christmas jumpers, tinsel on every corner and donations all day long at Christmas FM on #DonationDay.  Christmas FM broadcasts for six weeks before and during the Christmas period and it is run by volunteers. #DonationDay was all in aid of Age Action who were trying to raise much-needed funds for their Care and Repair programme.

This valuable service was established by Age Action to help carry out minor repairs for older and vulnerable people free of charge, to give them access to reliable tradesmen for larger jobs and to provide a befriending service. The vision of the programme is to enable older and vulnerable people to remain in their own homes, in their own communities, living as independently as possible, through the improvement of their housing conditions and their level of comfort, security and well-being.

So we decided to help out and to spur the public on to match our donation of €7,500 given in three tranches of €3,000, €3,000 and €1,500. And the public responded. Age Action raised a whopping €54,905.
