Exciting opportunities have arisen for Registered Nurses to provide safe, quality care to a child with complex care needs within a home setting. The successful candidates will be part of a Nurse led care team and will report directly to the CNM2

Responsibilities and Qualities of a Registered Nurse (Complex Care) include:

  • To ensure recognition of the child as an individual
  • The prioritise the needs and comforts of the child and family
  • Demonstrate kindness, compassion and patience
  • Work closely in partnership with family members
  • Provide excellent evidenced based nursing care and implement all aspects of the child’s care plans based on the needs identified and review accordingly
  • Maintain a high standard of infection control
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and report writing skills
  • Full driving licence

Qualifications & Experience

  • RGN/ RCN/ RNID on live register of NMBI
  • Minimum one to two years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse/ Registered Children’s Nurse is essential
  • BLS is essential. Any additional training needs identified as being required will be provided.

Role of Healthcare Assistant

The Healthcare Assistant’s primary role is to deliver personal care and assistance to a customer in his/her own home. Healthcare Assistants are responsible for the implementation of the requirements of the customer care plan, perform the identified care duties and promote customer comfort, dignity and wellbeing.

Qualities

Essential qualities of a Healthcare Assistant include having a genuine concern for others, having the ability to demonstrate kindness, compassion and patience, follow instructions and maintain confidentiality, be punctual, have good English language proficiency with good written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant include

  • Assist the customer with activities of living i.e. bathing, showering, continence care etc. as outlined in the customer care plan
  • Pay due care and attention to all aspects of care duties carried out on behalf of the customer
  • Carry out personal care with respect and dignity at all times, demonstrating sensitivity and empathy with the customer
  • Provide a high standard of care in line with the requirements outlined in the customer care plan

Qualifications & Experience

  • All Healthcare Assistants must have obtained QQI approved Level 5 Modules ‘Care of the Older Person’ and ‘Care Skills’ (Healthcare Support 5M4339) or have a minimum of one year experience as a Healthcare Assistant and be in a position to undertake the two QQI Level 5 modules outlined above.
  • Experience of caring for others in a professional capacity is desirable

Role of Senior Registered Nurse

The Senior Registered Nurse is a Registered Nurse who has extensive operational experience. The Senior Registered Nurse is responsible for the efficient running of care activities within the office and the provision of training, mentorship and guidance to all care staff within the care environment. The Senior Registered Nurse also supports the supervision process by carrying out supervisions and maintaining supervision records.

Qualities

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to delegate tasks efficiently
  • Ability to teach, mentor and supervise

Your responsibilities as a Care Supervisor will include . . .

  • The efficient running of care activities within the service
  • The carrying out of supervision visits and the maintenance of supervision records
  • The provision of mentorship and guidance within the care environment and to participate in care activities as part of the supervision process
  • Line manage, supervise and support the Health Care Assistant
  • Liaise with Care Staff, Customer, Family members etc.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Care Supervisor should have a nursing qualification and be registered (in any division) on the live register of NMBI.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse is essential
  • Experience of staff management is desirable
