Here at Bluebird Care Clare we provide home care solutions to a wide range of individuals with the sole aim of ensuring they can live independently and comfortably at home where they continue to remain part of their own community in the company of friends and family.
More and more people are opting to receive care at home these days, and according to the HSE Service Plan 2015
“A greater move towards primary and community services, as the principal means to meet people’s home support and continuing care needs is required to address this growing demand and to support acute hospital services. To respond to this challenge services for older people will continue to progress the strategic realignment of services to provide home care and other community support services in order to maximise the potential of supporting older people in their own homes close to their families and within their own local communities.”
In the majority of cases it makes both financial and emotional sense for an individual to remain in the familiar surroundings of their own home. Freedom of choice, independence and social inclusion are all critical contributing factors to maximising our customers daily lived experience and continued medical, social and psychological well-being. Bluebird Care in Clare have a person centred focus and all our care packages are fully tailored and unique to the individual clients, in order that he or she has a direct input into the care they expect to receive.

Who are our clients?
Bluebird Care offer care services across a broad spectrum of the community, many of our customers are adults, although we also support children, toddlers, and babies. Within our local communities we care/support complex medical conditions, physical and intellectual disabilities, chronic illness, dementia, respite care and end of life care. We also provide nursing care services.
Before we embark on any care package a comprehensive care needs assessment and risk assessment are carried out. This ensures that the care plan we put in place is fully person centred and tailored to the needs of the customer and their loved ones. Our range of services includes but is not limited to the following:
- personal care (ie assistance with washing and dressing)
- grocery shopping
- overnight care
- assistance with mobility, walking and light exercise
- accompanying to appointments or other excursions
- prompting medication
- light housework duties, including laundry
- preparing nutritious meals and or assisting with feeding
- Morning or Night assistance with bedtime routines
- Full in home support

Who are our home care staff?
At Bluebird Care Clare we are very proud of our care team and nurses. Our team are friendly, caring and qualified to the appropriate standards for their role. We have a very diverse skill set to meet the varying needs of our customers including Social Care workers, nurses, Healthcare assistants, and PA’s. All our staff have been fully Garda Vetted and completed all relevant mandatory training such as induction and patient moving and handling.
Our care staff are all enrolled on continuous personal development courses through on-line elearning and we regularly offer customer specific tailored training courses in particular with respect to dementia care.
Who do we work with?
At Bluebird Care in Clare we work with a range of healthcare professionals such as social workers, public health nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. It’s necessary for us to work closely with these individuals to ensure every aspect of our customers care needs are being met on a daily basis.
We are a preferred supplier to the HSE older persons and disabilities teams and work throughout the county in both a private and HSE funded capacity

Kay is the franchisee principal with extensive management experience as Treasury Manager with a very large multi-national company. It was a highly responsible role and she gained valuable experience in management and administration.
In search of a new challenge she availed of a package and she joined a recruitment company. She was responsible for payroll for two large multi-national companies but also gained experience in personnel recruitment.
Around this time her Dad passed away leaving her Mum living alone in a rural area in North Clare. Her Mum needed company and as she got older she needed extra care. There were no services available to provide a loved one with a high quality of life giving them the dignity and respect they deserved.
As a result of Kay’s experience it has become her objective to provide a service of excellence to enable people to live positively, healthier lives and be more independent. She delivers this with enthusiasm on the day-to-day running of the Bluebird Care Clare office.
Pearl is an experienced manager who has run a family business, managing staff and customer service.
She has worked for over 20 years in Administration and Finance. Pearl has a B.A. Hons Degree in Family & Community Studies (NUIG).
Pearl is a highly organised individual, who carries out her role with efficiency and integrity.
