There are many reasons why someone with support needs would opt to be cared for at home by a member of the Bluebird Care team in Tipperary and East Cork.
One of the main reasons is undoubtedly our insistence on providing flexibility; whether that is in terms of the care package, who the actual carer is and when it’s most convenient for you, the client, to receive a visit from them in order to attend to your needs. We are well aware here at Bluebird Care Tipperary and East Cork that everyone is a unique individual. It follows then that just because a client has a particular condition or mobility issue, it doesn’t mean we would come up with a standardised care package to suit. Quite the opposite, in fact. We would far rather sit down with a client and their existing carers (if appropriate) and consider what type of care provision would be best for the individual at the heart of the care provision ie the client him/herself.
The second reason why we are the most popular care at home provider in the locality is the fact that we are recognised as providing a quality service. Our staff doesn’t cut corners and all are equipped with formal qualifications such as a FETAC level 5, Social Care Certificate or degree in Social Work or Occupation Therapy. Then there are members of the team who also have nursing skills and the ability to administer basic medical care when needed.
More than that though, our staff is also chosen for their friendly, caring and compassionate natures – personality traits which are essential qualities when providing care at home services to vulnerable individuals. We never forget that all of our clients are simply seeking to live in dignity and with as much independence as possible in their communities.
What types of home care service can you expect to receive from us?
At Bluebird Care Tipperary and East Cork we offer bespoke care packages which are centred around individual needs. As such it could include one or several of the following list of activities:
- personal care (ie assistance with washing and dressing)
- meal preparation
- light housework duties
- companionship (a cup of tea and a chat or partake in a leisure activity)
- help with budgeting
- accompanying to appointments such as doctor, dentist and chiropodist
- overnight care or 24 hours around-the-clock support
- respite care (for several days or even weeks)
It is important to state too that a client’s condition will probably alter as time goes on and their care package may need to be adjusted as a result. That’s why we carry out regular assessments which always take into account the clients wants – as well as their needs. We will often set up specific goals for the client if he/she and our team deem it appropriate. These will all be aimed towards increasing the client’s independence and enjoyment of life.
What type of conditions can we help with?
Our clients sit across a broad spectrum with regards to age and support needs. For instance, some have mobility or learning difficulties while others have psychological conditions such as long-term neurological injuries which can interfere with everyday living. Then again, some clients may just need someone to pop in for a coffee and a chat.
