Tailored and professional home care services for people of all ages in their own homes what we provide here at the Waterford branch of Bluebird Care.

Our care at home provision is flexible and tailed to suit individual client’s needs (after all, no two clients are ever the same). Some of those needs include the following:

What our services involve:

  • Help with getting out of and into bed
  • Assistance when it comes to washing such as showering and bathing
  • Taking people to hospital appointments and helping them when it comes to taking medication and other first aid tasks
  • companionship and help with social activities
  • Buying food and preparation meals then cleaning up afterwards
  • Light household duties

Before planning a client’s care package we will always embark on a thorough assessment beforehand. Unlike other care at home providers we don’t believe in a simple “one size fits all” approach. That’s because clients’ needs vary and should be respected as such.

As far as possible we will always attempt to match carer and client as best as possible and on a regular basis since continuity is important – for both parties. It also results in a much better working relationship.

A service such as care at home provision must always be reviewed since clients needs change as time goes on. For instance some may need more intensive supervision while others may feel they can cope on their own without our help. Because of this we carry out regular management checks to ensure the services we are provided are fit for purpose.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the ‘Bluebird Care Girls’ who cared for my Father. Their caring manner, patience and kindness was so much appreciated and impacted so positively on my father. He looked forward to their visits and spoke so highly of them all. Their unceasing humour and cheerfulness helped him through each day. The kind ladies that looked after my father went above and beyond the role of a carer and it was evident from their visits that they truly cared. We are truly thankful for everything they did.”

What are our qualifications?

Our care workers are supervised by a nurse manager.

Our staff have recognised qualifications such as FETAC/QQI Level 5 in healthcare or related disciplines such as Social care and other relevant subjects.

Our Nurse Managers who manage our care staff are qualified Nurses.

“I would just like to say thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to work for Bluebird Care, which I really enjoyed and learned so much. I would like to wish you all the best of luck in the future.”

Do we cover dementia care?

Dementia care is a specialist area and the treatment of which is a skill which we are keen for our staff to undertake and become familiar with. Many already are.

Dementia care plans are decided in conjunction with the families involved (who know their loved ones better than most after all). That way we can better understand our clients along with their likes and dislikes, from dietary choices to physical activity, fears and friendships.
