Bluebird Care provides care and support, throughout Co Wexford, to people of all ages and abilities enabling them to remain in their homes and communities.

With a clear focus on promoting independence and freedom of choice Bluebird Care in Wexford is dedicated to providing high quality customer service and upholding the very best in professional care services provision.

Among the services that we provide are:

How does it work?

  • For every customer we prepare an individualised care plan according to their needs. This means that the person being cared for and supported is making informed judgements about their own care
  • We are flexible in meeting people’s requirements in terms of the type and duration of care and support that is required.
  • This means that our customers can choose the care that they need and can vary it, even on a short term basis, as their needs change.

Underlying all this is the understanding that the person will get one on one care and can remain independent and get the benefits of living at home

Among the types of care and support that our customer’s receive are:

  • Personal Care (getting washed and dressed)
  • help getting up or going to bed
  • meal preparation
  • having someone there for company and companionship
  • doing some light house work,
  • being brought to the shops, for coffee or for hospital/ medical appointments.
  • assistance with mobility, walking and light exercise
  • prompting medication

Our services can extend from a couple of hours per day or per week to all-night or full 24 hour care.

Care Providers

For many people the thoughts of having a stranger coming to their home can be daunting. In Bluebird Care we devote considerable resources to recruiting and training our Care Providers.

We have robust recruitment processes; all our employees go through an interview process, they possess relevant qualifications, are Garda vetted and undergo induction training which is supplemented by on-going training and supervision.

Our Care Providers are introduced to the person being cared for before the care commences. In addition we endeavour to ensure continuity of care i.e. that the same person or people provide the care and support all the time.

Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has worked in Financial Services for over 20 years in the finance area, general management and sales development.

Michael, whose family has been in business in Wexford for many years, set up the Bluebird Care office in Wexford in Autumn 2013.

“I am very excited by the challenge of delivering high quality care to our customers. The care needs of people are very varied and whether it is care of older persons or care for people with physical or intellectual disabilities we are committed to providing care to the highest professional standards.

“A consistent theme throughout my career has been that of placing the customer first and having a dedication to service. Everything that we do in Bluebird Care is focused on meeting and satisfying our customers’ care needs.”

Elizabeth Doyle
Director of Bluebird Care Wexford

Elizabeth is Chartered Physiotherapist and has over 20 years experience working in the HSE across a range of disciplines including Care of the Older Person. For the past 10 years Elizabeth has specialised in disability services for children and early intervention.

Elizabeth’s knowledge and skills gives us a key insight into the care needs and requirements in her specialist areas.

Sharon Kelly
Care Manager Bluebird Care Wexford

Sharon is a qualified nurse (RN) and has extensive experience in care provision in both the public and private sectors. She has worked in the Royal London Hospital, Wexford General Hospital and most recently was a Practice Nurse in a busy G.P. Surgery.

Sharon holds an R.N. Diploma in Nursing Studies, BA in Nursing Studies and a Higher Diploma in Practice Nursing.

Sharon says, “I am totally committed to providing the highest standard of quality care and I am assured that Bluebird Care’s standards meet my own.”

Ashley Clayton
Care Coordinator at Bluebird Care Wexford

Ashley has an honours Degree in Social Care from IT Carlow and has considerable experience working in care administration.

She manages the rostering of staff and many of the administration functions within the office. Ashley is also the key person at the end of the phone and is always ready to deal with client and staff queries in an efficient manner.

Ashley is committed to the provision of the highest quality care and passionate about customers living as independently as possible in their own homes and communities.

Sinéad McDonald
Care Supervisor

Sinéad is a qualified nurse (RNID) and received her qualification from the University of Limerick. Since qualification Sinéad has worked in the areas of intellectual disability and with older persons both in the community and in residential settings.

In her role as care supervisor Sinéad focuses on supporting and supervising staff while they provide care or support services to our customers, while ensuring care plans are reviewed and updated as required, and that standards are constantly maintained by the care workers and personal assistants.

Sinéad prides herself on delivering high standards of supervision and support and ensuring that all our staff provide services to these same standards.

Michelle Kelly
Care Co-ordinator

Michelle has worked in management, sales and customer services in the media, hospitality and tourism industries.

Michelle manages the rostering of staff and many of the administration functions within the office. Michelle is also the key person at the end of the phone and is always ready to deal with client and staff queries in an efficient manner.

Michelle has a qualification in Public Relations and her background and experience have given Michelle a strong understanding of the importance of meeting our customers care needs and of supporting our Care Workers.

Ann Jones
Care Co-ordinator

Ann has extensive experience in administration and project management.

In common with the other Care Co-ordinators, Ann manages the rostering of staff and many of the administration functions within the office. Ann is also a key person at the end of the phone and is always ready to deal with client and staff queries in an efficient manner.

Ann, who has a Science degree from University College Dublin, is fully committed to providing our Carers with the support that they need to meet our customer’s needs.

Anne Kilduff Barry

Administration Assistant

Anne who joined the administration team in November 2017 is a qualified care worker who has considerable office and administration experience.

Anne’s principal role is ensuring that the office administration is up to date and in compliance with company standards. In addition Anne provides support to our clients and care workers.

As a trained care worker Anne understands the importance of and is fully committed to ensuring that our clients receive the supports required to enable them to live as independently as possible in their homes and communities
