JOB DESCRIPTION
- To provide Nursing expertise to support existing care arrangements
- To carry out comprehensive needs assessments and develop customer care plans
- To provide direct supervision and monitoring of care standards
- To provide training instruction for care workers / care supervisor etc.
- To liaise with Care Manager/Care Supervisor/Care Workers/other Health Care professionals
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse on live register of NMBI essential (in any division)
- Management qualification desirable
- Risk Management qualification desirable
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of one years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse is essential
- Experience in mentoring/teaching/training desirable
- Experience in Management desirable
- Computer skills desirable

KEY WORK FUNCTIONS
The Registered Nurse will:
- Provide a high standard of customer care based on evidence based practice with reference to Bluebird Care policies and procedures
- Have a good knowledge of quality and safety systems
- Develop and maintain good and effective working relationships
- Carry out staff supervision
- Provide mentorship and training to staff as required
- Provide constructive feedback to care workers post a supervision exercise
- Liaise effectively with all staff within or external to Bluebird Care and directly with customers/family members
- Prioritise and organizse own workload
- Prepare reports as required
- Carry out customer assessment, develop/ implement customer care plans based on needs identified and review accordingly
- Support the successful implementation of quality control systems i.e. Audit
- Have a strong knowledge of the requirements of commissioning bodies i.e. HSE
- Provide care directly to the customer in the event of the care worker not being able to make the call
- Ensure that staff within his /her responsibility have a clear understanding/knowledge of all policies pertaining to the safeguarding of Adults/Children in receipt of Bluebird Care services
