We are currently recruiting five social care support staff for roles in Dundalk.
The successful candidates to this position will be responsible for the provision of flexible support and supervision to service users within an apartment complex.
The post holders will be required to ensure the provision of flexible support in a range of activities including use of leisure time, management of finances, the development of Independent Living skills, establishing and maintaining social networks, housekeeping, shopping and the use of community facilities and, importantly, the monitoring of the service user’s general health and well-being.
A rotational shift system will operate within the service and sleep-over responsibilities, evenings and weekend duties will apply.
Applicants must have previous experience of working with people with an intellectual disability.
Additionally, a clear understanding of the philosophy of independent living and community integration will be required to be demonstrated.
Good communication skills and the ability to self-direct are also essential.
A third level qualification in Health and Social Care, or a relevant nursing qualification, is highly desirable but not essential.
