Care staff from the Bluebird Care Meath office have just completed specialised trianing in Epilepsy Medication Management & Management of the Neurogenic Bowel. The Epilepsy Medication Management training was given by Sinead Murphy and Noreen O’Donnell from Epilepsy Ireland (formerly Brainwave).
Carers found the training very beneficial giving them a greater understanding of epilepsy and the management of seizures.
Management of the Neurogenic Bowel training was delivered by the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) which will add value to the knowledge of Bluebird Care’s team on the ground in Meath.
Gavin Kane Director of Bluebird Care Meath said that there was great feedback from everyone about the training. “Regular training is an important part of our core ethos. We have a varied training programme and we partner with key stakeholders in the health sector to deliver it. Later this year care staff will be trained on “Responsible and Safe Medication Management.”
On a national basis Bluebird Care is currently looking at rolling out new training initiatives for carers throughout the network. Continuing professional development provides a focus for Bluebird Care team members, ensuring all offices maintain a high standard of care for people of all ages and needs in their own homes and in the community.
