From Friday 27th of September to Saturday 5th October 2013 Age Action is celebrating Positive Ageing in Ireland. Positive Ageing Week is a festival which highlights the positive aspects of ageing and celebrates the contribution older people have made and continue to make to their communities.
One of the events being organised to help promote Positive Ageing Week 2013 is the Positive Ageing Photo Exhibition. The exhibition showcases older people getting out and enjoying life. Some are still working, while others are continuing to enjoy hobbies and some are captured passing on their skills to another generation. The exhibition has been displayed in art galleries, libraries, nursing homes, schools, town halls and businesses. The exhibition is made up of 28 images and 28 separate descriptions.
Below is some of feedback received over the years about this exhibition:
“Great photo exhibition, celebrating life!”
“Encouraging and so true to life.”
“Fantastic! Long live the aged!”
“A wonderful sight to see!”
“It’s great to see older persons enjoying themselves in every walk of life!”
“Wonderful, Uplifting, Enlightening!”
“Inspirational, a real heritage!”
This year the exhibition will be on tour in all Bluebird Care locations beginning in July and running until October, so don’t miss your chance to see the inspiring photos in your local office.
A full schedule of dates and locations will be published soon.
