A global report has suggested that Dementia cases are set to treble in Ireland by 2041. There are currently 42,000 people living with the disease here. But that is set to increase to 140,000 cases in less than 30 years.
Alzheimer’s Disease International says 44 million people live with the disease globally, but that figure will increase to 135 million by 2050.
The figures were released ahead of the G8 dementia summit in London late last year. (Source BBC News).
