Let’s Get Talking about Mental Health

May is Green Ribbon Month

Bluebird Care is supporting Green Ribbon Month with green ribbons being given out in our office in Wexford by Michael Corcoran and his team. They are also available from a list of outlets nationwide for free.

See Change, the National Stigma Reduction Partnership and our 90 partner organisations are rolling out a month long national Green Ribbon Campaign to get people talking openly about mental health problems in May 2014.

More than 300,000 green ribbons will be distributed nationwide free of charge to spark a national conversation about mental health in boardrooms, break-rooms, chat rooms, clubhouses, arts venues, college campuses and around kitchen tables throughout Ireland. Our aim is to make the month of May every year synonymous with promoting open conversation of mental health and challenging the stigma of mental health problems.

Just like the pink ribbon has become a powerful symbol for breast cancer awareness, this lime green ribbon has been established in the US and beyond as the international symbol for challenging the stigma of mental health problems.

Bluebird Care is Happy!

Happy Giving  to our Charity Partners

We wanted to share to share some images with you from our various fundraising events for charity.  CSR is a big part of our corporate strategy and giving back to communities and organisations that support people living independently.

Each year we donate 20% of our marketing budget to CSR and so we made a video to show you just a sample of what we do. If this video makes you happy, please share it!

Some of the charities we work with include Active Retirement Ireland, Age Action, Special Olympics Ireland, Blood Bike West and Wheelchairtaxi.ie.

Practice your golf swing at the upcoming Golf Classic hosted by Bluebird Care Tipperary.  Hosted by Andrew Jones, teams of four are invited to register at a cost of €200 which includes great prizes and a wholesome meal.

Speaking ahead of the event Andrew says, “We have secured great sponsorship from local businesses and their input and support is greatly appreciated. We are now registering teams of four and local clubs, organisations and individuals are being encouraged to practice their swing and raise much needed funds for Special Olympics.”
