Health & wellbeing checks

30-minute regular visits to make sure your vitals are stable

When it comes to your loved one’s health, you can never be too proactive. That’s what our Health & Wellbeing checks are all about.

How it works

It’s quite easy. One of our Care Assitants will stop by your loved one’s home for 30 minutes on a regular basis to make sure all of their vital signs are stable.

If they notice anything isn’t quite right, or needs to be looked into further, they’ll let you know right away. And a healthcare professional too, if needed.

Early detection is vital

We all want to be fit as a fiddle. But if something’s wrong, it’s always better to spot it early. Which is exactly what the Health & Wellbeing checks were designed for.

Through regular 30-minute visits, our Care Assistants can detect early signs of decline in a person’s physical, mental or emotional wellbeing. Which means your loved one can get help quickly before anything gets worse.

The vital signs we track

As part of the checks, our Care Assistants will track a number of different vital signs, including:

  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Temperature
  • Breathing and oxygen saturation
  • Alertness
  • General wellbeing (assessed through a questionnaire)

Get the reassurance you need

We use something called the NEWS2 matrix, which stands for National Early Warning Score. It was developed by the Royal College of Physicians and improves how we detect people who are at risk of clinical deterioration.

By checking your loved one’s results against the NEWS2 matrix, we can tell right away whether everything’s alright. And if it’s best to look into something more closely, we’ll quickly notify you and a health care professional, if appropriate.

Regular health checks are best

Most people get a Health & Wellbeing check once a week, at the same time every week. Though when and how often they happen is completely up to you.

It’s worth noting that the checks are flexible. You can access them as a stand-alone service, part of a customised package of care or as an add-on to your existing package of care. Again, it’s whatever works best for you.
